Our Research
At the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre – Community Healthcare (HRC), we conduct innovative research to develop, evaluate, and implement healthcare technologies that transform community and interface care.
Our focus is on improving patient outcomes and relieving pressure on secondary care through cutting-edge diagnostics, digital health technology, and medical devices.
Our work is built to align with the Department of Health and Social Care's (DHSC) Areas of Research Interest, particularly in addressing early action to prevent poor health outcomes, reducing compound pressures on the NHS and social care, and supporting the health and social care workforce of the future.
Through our research, we aim to contribute to these national priorities while focusing on the unique challenges and opportunities in community healthcare settings.
Research themes
Our research spans five clinical themes and three supporting themes.
Through these interconnected themes, we aim to catalyse the development of HealthTech that addresses critical needs in community healthcare, bringing about innovation that improves patient care and health system efficiency.
