Overview
We know that better tools and support are needed for people living with or at risk of chronic respiratory conditions. New technologies - such as digital tools, wearables, and new diagnostic tests are being developed, but to be effective, they need to address real-world challenges.
The HERON project aims to identify the most important unmet needs in chronic respiratory care and where innovation could help. We want to ensure that new technology makes a meaningful difference to patients, carers, and the professionals who support them.
Who should complete this survey?
We’re inviting professionals across the UK to complete a survey to share their experiences and perspectives on care needs and technology for chronic respiratory disease. We are keen to hear from professionals caring for adults and children living with, or at risk of, chronic respiratory disease in the UK, either as their main role or as part of a wider role.
Professionals working across all:
- care settings (e.g. primary/secondary/community care, rehabilitation, smoking cessation services)
- disciplines (e.g. GPs, respiratory specialists, practice or specialist nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists, social care workers)
- and stages of the patient journey (e.g. screening, diagnosis, management, palliative care) are encouraged to complete this survey.
Please note: This survey focuses on chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis/interstitial lung disease, bronchiectasis and breathing pattern disorder. It does not cover lung cancer, infections, or breathlessness caused by cardiac, neuromuscular, or other non-respiratory conditions.
