HealthTech evaluation methodology
Our 'HealthTech evaluation methodology' theme provides world-class expertise in health economics, statistics, qualitative and behavioural/implementation methods to support rigorous evaluation across all HRC themes.
We ensure that innovative health technologies are assessed effectively and efficiently for their impact, cost-effectiveness, and real-world applicability.

Current projects
- Adaptive trial design toolkit
Developing a suite of tools to help researchers design more efficient and flexible clinical trials for HealthTech evaluation. - Real-world evidence framework
Creating a comprehensive framework for collecting and analysing real-world data to supplement traditional clinical trials. - Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs)
Database Building a searchable database of validated PROMs for use in HealthTech evaluations across various health conditions
Impact
Our methodological research aims to:
- Accelerate the evaluation process for new health technologies
- Improve the quality and reliability of HealthTech evidence
- Enhance the translation of research findings into clinical practice
- Support informed decision-making by healthcare providers and policymakers
Collaborations:
As a team of methodologists – statisticians, health economists, qualitative researchers, and implementation scientists – we collaborate with industry and SME partners and across academic institutions, as well as regulatory bodies and health technology assessment organisations.
