Whether you're an emerging start-up or a well-established company, this event is tailored to support your growth and impact in improving respiratory care in community settings. This is a perfect opportunity for innovators developing devices and digital technologies across the care continuum, from early risk detection and diagnosis to home management, and long-term care.
What you'll gain:
- Individual multi-disciplinary feedback sessions on your technology from NHS respiratory specialists, clinical researchers, patients and commissioners
- Expert guidance on evidence requirements, regulatory pathways, and funding routes
- Direct insights into current NHS respiratory care challenges and priorities
- Valuable networking with key stakeholders in respiratory innovation

Venue:
This event will be held at University College, founded in the 13th century and one of the oldest colleges in Oxford. Lunch will be hosted in the historic 17th-century Gothic-style Dining Hall, offering a rare opportunity to experience the traditional formal setting of an Oxford college. Throughout the day, you’ll have access to the College's stunning grounds, including the beautiful Chapel and the famous Shelley Memorial – and there will be informal tours in the afternoon alongside the feedback clinics.
There is no parking available at the venue, but it is easily accessible by public transport including five Park & Ride locations around the Oxford ring road.
Registration:
The cost is £50 per attendee, to cover the cost of lunch and refreshments, but other event/speaker costs are being covered by the hosts as part of industry engagement work.
As places are limited, we are asking innovators to complete an Expression of Interest form (opens in new window) so that we can prioritise those most likely to benefit from the available expertise.
We will then confirm your place and send practical details of the day, including payment information.
Who we are :
The NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in Community Healthcare, based at the University of Oxford Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, supports industry in evidence generation across the development pipeline. We have a dedicated Respiratory Theme , co-led by Professor Naj Rahman and Dr Helen Ashdown.
We bring together NHS clinicians caring for patients with respiratory disease from community to specialist tertiary care, and leading clinical and academic experts in NIHR infrastructure, evidence generation, and across research methodologies, including diagnosis, qualitative, regulatory and health economic evaluations.
We are aligned with other NIHR infrastructures, including the other NIHR HealthTech Research Centres, the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre, NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre, and the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Oxford and Thames Valley. We also work closely with Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley, Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit, TheHill Innovation Catalyst and a number of teams within the Oxford University Hospitals and Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trusts.
The Respiratory Innovators Network is a body of industries interested in developing new innovations in the UK respiratory space, regardless of their size or stage of development. The Network is co-ordinated by representatives from The Centre for Applied Respiratory Research, Innovation & Impact (CARRii), the Association of British Health Industries (ABHI) and Asthma & Lung UK (A+LUK)
